Update

Whoa...Been way too long since I updated the ole' blog. Sorry about that. My absence has been filled with lots of summer things and lots of adoption things.

Miss Ruby is walking....er...RUNNING everwhere now. She follows Jonas all around the house. Of course, he is MORE than happy to have a sidekick. Now there is someone to share the blame in all his little antics. They have shared several messes together. They emptied an entire canister of sugar on the floor. As well as the large can of formula I bought thinking I could trick Ruby into having a bottle while I was still nursing. Guess we know how that turned out. Jonas has also showered Ruby numerous times with the water dispenser from the fridge. You see, if you use the ice maker, mom and dad can hear it and come running. However, if you are slick enough to just push the water button....its virtually silent. Yay! Water play!

Now, there are occassions where Jonas still flies solo for his missions. Mainly because Ruby can't crawl out of her crib and join him yet. But Jonas....oh...Jonas can sneak out of his room very quietly. (I've often marvelled at how a child that typically BREATHES LOUDLY can be so quiet and sneaky) Jonas has dumped an entire bottle of pancake syrup on the kitchen floor....TWICE!!! After the first time we moved the syrup to the highest shelf in the pantry. What were WE thinking.....He scaled that the very next time he fancied pancakes for breakfast. So, now the pancake syrup resides on top of the fridge. One of the 2 spots he can't reach in ENTIRE house. Its a bit cluttered up there. He's a curious boy. There have been other "missions" Most of the time they happen in rapid succession. WHILE I am cleaning up one mess, he makes another. Its happened more than once...more than 4 times. For real. Now, when I clean up I assign one child to help me and one to monitor Jonas. Even if that means just sitting with him on the couch. Learned that lesson. I sat him on the couch so I could vacuum up the box of cheerios from the floor and one minute he was there....and the next Madelyn is running it to tell me that Jonas just emptied the bottle of facial cleanser onto my floor. WHAT?! Good times. He's a joy. He is so sweet, too. Yesterday I banged my head pretty hard and while I was fighting off tears, little Jonas brought me a used dryer sheet and told me to "blow." Melted my heart. Love that little stinker!

So, like I said...I've been busy. So, when I haven't been cleaning up after the one boy wrecking crew, I've been sewing. That is the understatement of the century! How do I do it? I don't sleep ;) Roger works nights and once the kids are in bed, I sew. I turn on Netflix on my computer and sew. Or, I pray. Its a good time to talk to God. The machine hums along and I'm free to pray out loud. We've had lots to talk about!

Currently, we are in the midst of our 3rd possible adoption opportunity. Its certainly the most promising. We're waiting. Waiting on God and trusting his timing. We know he has a baby out there for us and that is the only baby we want. Pray for us as we wait. We're ramping things up on the fundraising. Money that I thought would be due in 5-6 months is going to be due soon. God has been so faithful in providing what we need so far, I don't doubt him now.

So, there's the update. There will SOON be another installement of Quilt-a-pa-looza. Stay tuned

Would you like some free fabric?? I see that you do a lot of quilting. I'm looking for someone who quilts for a good cause to pass some fabric too. If so, how do you feel about 30's fabrics:)? I have other stuff too, more modern. I'm cleaning out the sewing room!! You can contact me at Minerscreekmum@yahoo.com if interested.
